Centre Details
KACC has been in existience for some ten years teaching canoeing, running competitions and trips for paddlers in and around Kilkenny. We welcome paddlers young and old and are family focusssed encouraging young people and adults to paddle ,learn and enjoy the fun of canoeing together. We have a very large youth contingent who will paddle every day if given the chance!
During the summer we paddle mainly on the Nore at Greens Bridge in Kilkenny on flat water, playing at the nearby weir and we have just erected hanging canoe polo goals which can be deployed in a few minutes. We have about 10 keen play boaters and get guidance from local paddler Adrian Shanahan who is a regular on our local weir. There is a very keen canadian group and others who race marathon and wild water racing. We have just applied for planning permission to have boat storage at the site where we paddle so that will make a major difference to activities and will allow memebsr store boats at the river for quick access.
